A very impressive floor standing abstract sculpture titled Blade I, circa 1970.

Made from cast aluminium with laminate base. With a textured and smooth finish to both sides. The ‘blade’ can be rotated on a steel centre pivot to adjust the position of the blade.

Alastair Michie was born in Northern France in the 1920s and educated in France and Scotland. He studied architecture in Edinburgh before turning to paint and sculpture in the 1960s, ultimately working in acrylic and mixed media. His work is exhibited in the Scottish National Galleries.
