Wonderful set of elegant hand held mirrors. The frames are made from Mahogany with lovely boxwood stringing around the edge of the glass plate mirrors, two of the mirrors have a very nice inlaid circular disc detail to the handle made from shell and the other mirror has an inlaid circular disc made from Ebony. The mirrors date from the late Georgian / early Victorian period. Originally used as hand held mirrors this set would look great hung on a wall. In very nice condition, the silver on the mirror plates is beautifully foxed and a lot of the “mirror” is no longer visible, the plates are mottled adding to the aesthetic of the piece.
